So, you might ask: What have we been doing these past three months since announcing the CommonWell Health Alliance at HIMSS13? Great question! And while the list is long, I am a firm believer in blog brevity. So let’s give this a go and see how I do.
Directly following the announcement, the founding member companies got to work assembling cross-partner workgroups and creating regular meetings to ensure ample collaboration and energy to meet our ambitious goals. Most recently, we found out what the “Paris of the Plains” or “City of Fountains” is all about (and boy, were most of the members positively surprised) when Cerner hosted the first CommonWell Member Summit at its headquarters in Kansas City.
It wasn’t all BBQ and jazz (although we did get to sample a bit of both). It was a productive and packed day of cross-workgroup presentations and collaboration, as well as detailed breakouts for members to come to decisions on many next steps. We snapped a few photos to celebrate this momentous day of competitive companies coming together under one roof with the unified goal to drive improved health data exchange between systems. It was a great event and the first of many to come. (And yes, that is RelayHealth’s own Paul Clip getting really into his presentation; wait ‘til you see him in our video!)
In addition to our Summit and ongoing workgroup meetings, you might have also run into one of us on the road or in a virtual engagement. From speaking at conferences to interviews in industry publications and references during policy meetings, we have been out trying to spread the word. We have also had some tremendous conversations with additional members and look forward to expanding the group.
And with that, I should stop… and pick up from there next time. Thank you again for reading and please check back to read insights on the industry, as well as additional updates on the CommonWell Health Alliance.
Oh… and don’t forget. We want to hear from you too, so please post a comment, question or suggestion.
